Interesting Critters
Aside from our dogs and our hedgehog, we've seen some pretty interesting animals here in Mongolia. We'll be adding to this page occasionally.
Manul Cats
These may look like bushy housecats, but they're not. The owner of these cats said that they can't be domesticated. They're not exactly friendly: they growled, hissed and poked at me through the cage while I was photographing them. They're rather hard to get good pictures of: they all ran back into the cardboard box when disturbed -- the images below are of the only one that didn't bolt. The top set of images are of an older male that wasn't so timid.
