Everyone loves a pretty face

In addition to a ton of other cool bits, I fabricated this instrument housing for friend and former co-worker Lee Parks for his street Hawk.

As anyone who knows him can attest, Lee is a huge gadget junkie, and the large panel below the intstruments -- where the idiot lights are -- is specifically for all the switches, knobs and LEDs associated with his gadgets.

When I did the final installation, the panel housed controls for the following:

  • On/off switch for the lighted map holder
  • On/off switch, thermostat control knob, and power indicator light for his electronic thermostat for an electric vest electric vest
  • On/off switch and power indicator lightfor his heated hand grips.
No kidding. And, there was plenty of room for more.

I did lots of other fabrication work on his bike, including rearset adaptor plates, a collector/adaptor from the stock head pipes to a Borla exhaust, and a really sweet fairing bracket that supported the Buell fairing, which I had painted Honda Hawk Gray to match the rest of the bike.
