In 2002-2003, my wife and I lived in Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia for a year on a Luce Foundation Asia Scholarship. While we were there, we became good friends with a modernist patiner, Tsatsa & her husband Batlai. We agreed to mount a show at the national art gallery, which was covered by national and international press.
I designed the logo for the printed catalog and promotional materials. The logo is black and magenta, two of the four process colors used as spot color. I got good mileage out of the spot colors.
Below are examples of the catalog cover.
